HOW IT STARTED?
Before Deviant was even a concept, our sister-shop Vault Coffee Roasters (established Fall, 2014) was looking to expand their offerings. Our ambitious pastry chefs stepped up to the plate and were faced with the question, “What goes best with coffee?”. We immediately thought of the classic coffee and donut scenario. But the real questions came when they examined how donuts were perceived at the time.
We needed something inventive, trendy, and of course, fun for all ages. After spending months developing a brioche recipe we were happy with we began brainstorming flavors. We soon had a long list of ideas, and our passion for these flavors was strong enough to fuel a new venture, a pop-up shop under our own name. Deviant Donuts was established late Fall, 2017.
